Description
A rich and buttery Pecan Dump Cake that’s irresistibly easy to make. With layers of tender cake, gooey filling, and crunchy pecans, it’s the perfect dessert for any occasion, from family dinners to festive holidays. Minimal prep, maximum flavor!
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted for extra flavor)
- 1 can (21 oz) pie filling (e.g., apple, cherry, or peach)
- 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, sliced into thin pats
- Optional: ½ cup caramel sauce, chocolate chips, or shredded coconut
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer the ingredients: Spread the pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the filling, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
- Add the pecans and butter: Scatter chopped pecans over the cake mix. Place thin pats of butter evenly on top, covering as much surface as possible.
- Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
- Serve: Let the cake cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
- To prevent burning: Cover the dish loosely with foil during the last 10 minutes if the pecans start to brown too much.
- Customizations: Try adding chocolate chips for a richer dessert or a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra sweetness.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven for best results.
